México Patina was the first national skateboarding championship of AMPA (Mexican Association of Skaters) presented by DC SHOES México.
The grand prize was already ours when we were commissioned to create an identity that was visually aggressive to attract more visibility to the tournament and that reflected the energy and vitality of the new national skateboarding scene in the country. We didn't have to look far for inspiration since we were already there, "Mexico", using the national colors as our official palette and appropriating the eagle and the serpent of the national shield to create illustrations as the basis of the new identity.
México Patina fue el primer campeonato nacional de skateboarding de la AMPA (Asociación Mexicana de Patinadores) presentado por DC SHOES México.
El gran premio ya era nuestro cuando se nos comisionó crear una identidad que fuese visualmente agresiva para atraer más visibilidad al torneo y que reflejara la energía y vitalidad de la nueva escena nacional de skateboarding en el país. No tuvimos que buscar inspiración muy lejos ya que estábamos ya ahí, “México", haciendo uso de los colores nacionales como nuestra paleta oficial y apropiándonos del águila y la serpiente del escudo nacional para crear ilustraciones como base de la nueva identidad.
